About Us
The Aberdeen Chartered Physiotherapy Centre was established in 1982 to provide
a highly skilled Physiotherapy service incorporating selected therapies of
complimentary medicine. Over the years the service has developed considerably
and we now have an establishment of Chartered Physiotherapists, all with considerable
experience in their particular field of interest. The philosophy of the practice is to
offer the highest quality in patient care given promptly, efficiently and in confidence,
with sympathetic attention to individual needs.

Assessment
The Physiotherapists within the practice base their treatments on a detailed history,
with an examination, assessment and analysis of presenting signs and symptoms. This is to
ascertain an accurate diagnosis and will be the basis on which treatment decisions will be
planned. A continual re-assessment of the problem is made as treatment progresses.

|
Treatments and Therapies
We favour a hands-on approach which will usually involve massage, mobilisation, neural
stretching techniques or manipulative therapy. We actively encourage patient involvement in
the management of the condition by promoting an understanding of the problem and practical
methods to prevent recurrence.
To compliment our manual therapy we have equipped the practice with up to date therapeutic
appliances including ultra-sound, interferential, short-wave diathermy, electro-magnetic energy,
laser, T.E.N.S and traction. The correct code of exercise is an integral part of treatment.
Early treatment of acute pathology prevents chronic recurrent problems which are more difficult to handle.

|
Acupuncture
We are in a unique position as Chartered Physiotherapists to be able to combine these natural
treatment methods with acupuncture which is available for the relief of acute and chronic pain,
stress related problems and to aid in the cessation of smoking. In addition, we retain the services
of a traditionally trained acupuncturist who offers a holistic approach in the treatment of many conditions.
